In an effort to increase understanding of the perceptions of African Americans toward domestic violence, the Institute on Domestic Violence in the African American Community established the Community Insights Project. This national project focuses on securing information from individuals who maintain an insider-specific understanding of the causes and consequences of domestic violence and identifying what they consider to be effective solutions in preventing domestic violence in African American communities.

Presenters will highlight findings of community assessments that have occurred across the country and discuss how the information can be used to shape and inform grassroots mobilization efforts to address domestic violence among African Americans in California.
