Domestic Violence, It IS happening in YOUR community every day!

White Earth DOVE Program & Tribal Court, Lakes Crisis Center, and Anishinabe Legal Services are sponsoring Domestic Violence, it IS happening in YOUR community every day! with Lt. Mark Wynn, a national trainer for police officers, prosecutors, judges, social services providers, healthcare professionals, and victim advocates.  The training will go from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. and will be held at Shooting Star Casino, Hotel & Event Center, Mahnomen, MN.

About Lt. Mark Wynn: Lieutenant Mark Wynn, as a child, lived in a home filled with domestic violence at the hands of his stepfather.  He is a twenty year member of the Metropolitan Police Department (Nashville, Tennessee).  He also served as Lieutenant to the Domestic Violence Division.  He was a member of the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team for 15 years.  Mark was the recipient of 121 commendations and 51 awards and certificates including 1998 Nashvillian of the Year Award and and the National Improvement of Justice Award.  In October of 1995 Lt. Wynn was invited to the White House by President Clinton to deliver a speech on strategies to prevent domestic violence in the United States.

The conference registration fee is $40.00.  Registration includes continental breakfast, lunch, and handouts.  The final registration deadline is March 26.  A block of rooms has been set aside at the Shooting Star Casino, Hotel & Event Center until March 19.  Please call 1-800-453-7827 and ask for the DOVE Conference block of rooms for your hotel stay.  Lodging costs are on your own.  POST credits, CEUs, CLEs have been applied for.  Certificates of attendance will be provided.
