Documentary Film - (East Hall 106) 11:00-Noon.

The Hamline student organization "Students for a World Without Genocide" will present a documentary film "The Greatest Silence: Rape in the Congo" which discusses the brual war that has been raging in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) which has left tens of thousands of women and girls systematically kidnapped, raped, mutilated and tortured by soliders from both foreign militias and the Congolese army.

Violence Against Women Panel Discussion - (East Hall 106) Noon - 1:00pm

Immediately following the documentary file a panel including speakers from Breaking Free, the Center For Victims of Torture, and the Office of Representatives Betty McCullom will discuss the issues of rape and torture.

International Women of Distinction Coffee Hour - (GLC Art Gallery) 3-5pm

The Office of Multicultural and International Student Affairs (MISA) will also be holding a coffee hour devoted to international women who are leaders in social and political movements. This event will also include a small discussion on women's rights issues.
