New York Model for Batterer Programs Training Institute
The New York Model for Batterer Programs is holding a National Training Institute, focused on how courts and programs can bring real meaning to Offender Accountability. The Institute will be held in Rockland County, NY.
Research demonstrates there is widespread consensus that offender accountability is a core function both of courts and of batterer programs. While that is valid, there is considerable confusion as to just what that looks like in practice. The Institute will demonstrate meaningful, simple and effective mechanisms for batterer programs to serve courts in enforcing domestic violence offender accountability. The Institute is designed for all who work in batterer programs and for those who are interested or concerned about batterer programs, especially domestic violence advocates and those who work with domestic violence offenders in other venues. This Institute is also designed for criminal justice personnel, magistrates, court clerks, probation, parole, prosecutors, defense bar, etc.
The general fee for the institute is $195. The fee for advocates* is $125 (* Only for advocates at domestic violence victim service, non-profit, non-governmental programs).
