Minnesota Coalition for Battered Women

This advanced advocacy training for MCBW member programs will focus on issues that arise in Order for Protection hearings, including the role of the advocate, how to prepare battered women to testify, how to identify and prepare exhibits, how to assist women in making objections, and how to create a "record" for appeal.

We will also examine problem issues specific to children and OFPs, including obtaining an Order for Protection on behalf of the children, children as witnesses, parenting time/custody being given to abusive/respondent fathers, etc.
